Douglas Turner, CFP®, MBA is Founder and Managing Director of Forward Financial Strategies. Douglas brings to bear over 25 years of business, consulting and financial services experience to help clients manage wealth.
Prior to founding Forward Financial Strategies, Douglas was a Senior Manager with Ernst & Young, one of the most well regarded professional services firms in the world. During his time at Ernst & Young, Douglas:
- Served as the first financial director of Ernst & Young’s global infrastructure group, which was tasked with integrating the technology and knowledge management operations of the firm;
- Directed two multi-national task forces to re-design the strategic planning process at Ernst & Young to better serve global clients;
- Advised senior management of client companies regarding optimal international market entry strategies.
Following his tenure with Ernst & Young, Douglas became Chief Operating Officer at The Capstone Group, a commercial real estate investment firm in New York City. In this role, he managed an institutional portfolio of real assets, and gained insight into how corporate capital structure can impact financial performance across a range of capital market and interest rate environments.
Today, Douglas serves as financial advisor to clients in Colorado, New York and other parts of the U.S. by focusing on the key areas of financial success: managing wealth, minimizing taxes, planning for and living in retirement, managing risk, and facilitating estate plans. Douglas has his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification and is an active member of the Financial Planning Association of Colorado. He received an MBA with distinction from the Thunderbird School of Global Management—a top-ranked school for international business by The Financial Times and U.S. News & World Report. Douglas holds his Series 7 and 66 securities registrations with LPL Financial, as well as licenses for Colorado life and health insurance.
Douglas lives with his wife, Bobbie, and their two teenage children in Englewood, Colorado. His family loves to spend time enjoying the extraordinary beauty and natural wonders of the west. To stay connected with Bobbie’s family, they gather at her family’s island home in Bass Harbor, Maine, each summer.
